Cage: Issue #16, July 1993 For Love Nor Money, Part Five: Love Like a Weapon Writer: Marc McLaurin Penciler: Scott Benefiel Inker: Frank Turner Letterer: Richard Starkings Colorist: Kelly Corvese Editor: Chris Cooper Editor-in-Chief: Tom DeFalco Summary Continued from Terror Inc. #12. We pick up right where we left off. Our heroes are trying to resist manifestations of those they love. Cage, almost completed enchanted by his love, realizes it's a fraud when she calls him Luke (His name now, but not the name she knew him as when she was alive), and is the first to fend off his adversary. Terror and Silver also manage to beat the manifestations in an overly played out fight sequence. Meanwhile, Priapus is the Venezeulan jungle, looking for the serpent. Upon discovering the Carnal Serpent, Priapus allows himself to be eaten. Shortly after that, our heroes arrive on the scene, and a short battle with Serpent takes place, with Cage delivering the death blow. Then Priapus leaps from within the serpent claiming that the "ritual rebirthing" is complete. As our heroes are about to take him, Priapus puts them in a trance and cries that they will be his new acolytes. Concluded in Silver Sable #14. |
