Issue #13, June 1993 Continued from Cage #15. Silver has tracked Cage to one of the Greek islands where she attempts to retrieve the Tryst from him. After a brief scuffle, Cage decides to give up the artifact claiming it's not worth the trouble. At that point, Terror took a shot at Silver, but was accidently blocked by Cage. An alliance of sorts is made between Silver and Cage to stop Terror. During the boat chase, Silver shoots Terror's engine and the boat explodes. Cage and Silver realize that they are possibly working for the same person so they continue to their rendezvous point. There, they meet Priapus. Right when Silver is negotiating for payment, Priapus kisses her, leaving her in a stunned state, and when Cage tried to intervene, Priapus put a little hex on him. Both heroes were down due to the extreme ecstasy they were experiencing. Silver trying to recover says to herself, "That was unlike any -- have to shake it off -- no matter how wonderful". Priapus' goons seize the stunned pair, bind them in a metal net, and throw them in a shark tank. Meanwhile, Terror survived and is swimming towards the island. As the water level in the tank rises, the sharks are released, facing either death by drowning, or death as shark bait. Continued in Terror Inc. #12
Silver Sable: Early Tales Months have passed since Silver's first attempt to lead the Wild Pack, and her father's death. She has trained relentlessly and has become a fine-tuned operative. During a training session with the Wild Pack, Uncle Morty comes in and demands to know why the Wild Pack has become a mercenary outfit. Silver explains that the Wild Pack's mission to stop Nazi war criminals is still a priority, but that their numbers are dwindling. Her nation of Symkaria is financially strapped, and this is the sole way to bring in increased revenues. Uncle Morty also confronts her decision to change her name from Silver Sablinovia to Silver Sable. Silver's response, "Silver in spirit. All color and emotion drained from me. Sable in form. Fierce and supple in body." The Wild Pack's first merc job is to retrieve British agents trapped in Russia. The mission goes well, but Silver finds that she can kill without remorse. Upon asking herself, "What have I become?" her answer was, "A survivor." |
