Summary

Silver and the Pack are in Italy as their attempt to rescue some random ambassador being held by the Viper (actually, a Pit-Viper, one of Viper's doubles). The battle ends quickly, meanwhile Sandman, Paladin, Man-Eater and Fin are in Kentucky, battling a Pit-Viper of their own. That, too, ends quickly. The individual who hired Silver to bring in the Viper remains a mystery. This gets the attention of Captain America, who begins searching for the Silver's employer. It seems Viper's plan is to broadcast a signal through television that will blind all who view it. Later in New York, Powell's sister, Samantha joins the embassy as the new PR specialist. And as soon as she arrives, she starts fancying BattleStar, much to the dismay of Powell. While this is happening, the Pack is viewing the latest issue of Petshop (a Playboy-type magazine) and find a complete nude spread of Silver, and needless to say are quite shocked. Elsewhere, Baron Von Strucker of HYDRA is vowing revenge against Silver for the loss of one of their stations (see issue #12) and against the Crippler, specifically for his "mutiny from the ranks of HYDRA." The Crippler is doing some undercover inflitration at one of the Pit-Vipers locations, and then Captain America appears on the scene to capture the Pit-Viper. The real Viper guns down the Pit-Viper just as Silver arrives on the scene to back up Crippler. They manage to capture the Viper, but Cap won't let them deliver her to the one who hired Silver, for apparently, it's the Red Skull. Continued in Captain America #419.
