Summary

Continued from Issue #18. Just as the Wild Pack subdued Venom, a dark hot mist has enveloped San Francisco. From the mist, strange creatures emerge claiming that there feasting is long overdue. The mist from which they came is draining the energy from the Pack's weapons. A hand-to-hand fight ensues and just as Silver is about to have her head bitten off, Venom revives and makes the save. In fact Venom goes around and beats the creatures. After the fight, Venom suggests that he work with Silver to beat the Lilan creatures, and in return, he wants Silver to stop chasing him. Meanwhile in New York, Paladin, Lorna and Morty are discussing another case when they discover that this mist has reached them. As they make their way to the bomb shelter, Lightbright (who was featured in the adventure in Somalia) arrives at the Embassy. Back in San Francisco, the heat begins to wear down the Pack. Quentino suggests that if they reach a higher location, like the top of Golden Gate Bridge, they may be able to call for the stealthcraft. Just then, more Lilan arrive and begin to attack the Pack and Venom. They battle the Lilan as they climb the Bridge. Quentino and Powell make it to the top which is clear of the mist and signal for the stealthcraft. It arrives and the Pack and Venom make their escape. Hours pass and the mist disappears as quickly as it came (sadly unexplained). Silver arrives back at the Embassy in New York, where Jacques is adamantly denying having anything to do with the centerfold spread, which Silver believes. And in the final panel, Silver's niece Anna returns.

Man-Eater: Man or Beast?
A short story featuring Man-Eater

Writer: Gregory Wright
Artist: Michael Bair
Letterer: Steve Dutro
Colorist: Ed Lazellari
Editor: Craig Anderson
Editor-in-Chief: Tom DeFalco

Summary

In South America, Man-Eater is on a test to see if he belongs on the Intruders, Silver Sable International's Elite Superhuman squad. Man-Eater is tracking a pair of terrorists. An explosion set by the terrorists gives them a momentary reprieve as Man-Eater tracks them and finds them again. When one of them, gripped with fear, asks Man-Eater, "Wha- what are you?" Man-Eater thinks to himself, "I'm not even sure," and a flashback on how he came to be begins. He remembers two seperate perspectives, one of Malcolm Murphy, an archeologist, and one of a wild tiger running through the jungle. He recalls that he can only remember things clearly after he was freed by Battle Star. He wonders if he a man made into a tiger, a tiger made into a man, or something else. At that moment, the flashback ends and one of the terrorists draws a knife, and Man-Eater kills him, and he turns to the other terrorist who surrenders quickly. He walks away with his bounty not knowing what he is, but knowing he is an Intruder. (At the end of the story, it claims that there will be an upcoming Intruders Limited Series, but, to my knowledge, that never came to be)
